LIMITED EDITING:
The faithful representation of what was captured at the time of shooting must be maintained. The following IS ALLOWED: cropping, removal of dust spots. Levels, curves, colour, saturation and contrast work, dodging and burning. Sharpening is allowedStacking and Stitching, where the end result is a faithful representation of the original scene is allowed. NOT ALLOWED: No adding or removing of any element. NATURE IN THE GARDEN

Any Nature or Wildlife that is found in our gardens - i.e. monkeys, birds, insects, plants, etc. We can't all visit game reserves, but we can capture and process these nature pictures in an urban environment as if we were in the Kruger. Man-made objects allowed (eg, fences, birdbaths). No pets.

ICM = Intentional Camera Movement
Abstract - find new ways of looking at an object - interesting textures, features, markings - ICM is deliberately move your camera (or zooming in and out with your lens) slightly with a slowish shutter speed in order to create an abstract picture. This must be done in camera, and not added in processing.

ARCHITECTURE / BUILDINGS
Architectural photography is about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye.

LONG EXPOSURE / SLOW SHUTTER
Panning, Light Trails, moving water etc. The point of this Tech Challenge is to use a slowish Shutter Speed in order to show movement through blurring part of the picture - either the subject, or the background. Must be done in camera.

FRAME YOUR IMAGE
This does not mean borders!!!!
Take a photo so that there is a natural frame around the subject - i.e. a landscape picture through trees so that the trees frame the scene, a picture through a doorway or window so that these form a frame around the subject

PANORAMA
A picure where the ratio of width to height is equal or greater than 2:1 - the width must be 1920, and the height cannot exceed 960 (it can be less than 960). This most often suits Scape type images, but any image is acceptable as long as the Width to Height ratio is 2:1 or larger. This can be achieved by cropping a single picture, or stitiching 2 or more pictures together.
